Information
Tomi Abe Studio is an independent multidisciplinary practice operating at the intersection of design, technology, media, research, and cultural expression.
Founded in 2013, the studio has evolved from a freelance design practice into a systems-driven creative and digital consultancy that supports both client collaborations and self-initiated projects.
The studio operates as a flexible, idea-led space where strategy, experimentation, and digital infrastructure converge to explore complex questions, from how people interact with information to how organizations communicate meaning and impact. Across every project, the goal is to craft clarity, translating data, systems, and culture into experiences that inform, engage, and endure.
Philosophy & Approach
The studio operates with a systems lens, seeing design not just as visual or technical output, but as a connective framework between people, ideas, and technology.
Projects often begin with questions:
- How can digital platforms communicate nuance?
- What does accessibility mean in emerging media?
- How might storytelling help us understand data, policy, or place?
Areas of Practice
The studio’s work spans design, strategy, media, and technology, connecting creative insight with operational systems.
Focus areas include:
Brand & Product Strategy Shaping coherent identities, narratives, and systems that adapt across contexts.
Digital Product & Experience Design
Building intuitive, human-centered platforms and interfaces.
Data Visualization & Storytelling Translating complex insights into clear, visual experiences.
Creative Technology & Research Exploring new forms of digital expression and knowledge systems.
Editorial & Media DevelopmentDesigning content ecosystems and media experiences that inform, inspire, and engage.
Through these, the studio works with organizations, startups, and cultural institutions to design for clarity, usability, and impact.
About Tomi
I'm Jesutomilayo (Tomi) Abe, a strategic creative and digital lead with over a decade of experience building systems, narratives, and experiences at the intersection of design, technology, media, and research.
My work explores how systems shape human experience, whether that’s a data dashboard, a brand ecosystem, or a digital story.
I lead Tomi Abe Studio, developing work that merges strategic insight with cultural relevance and translates strategy into tangible, scalable outcomes. I also co-lead Susbridge and co-publish Susinsight, where our work centers on making sustainability knowledge accessible, contextual, and actionable within African contexts.
Beyond client and venture work, I share insights as a speaker, trainer, and mentor on AI, design, and responsible innovation, and I actively support emerging professionals through structured outcome-driven mentorship programs.
